English artist Tacita Dean presents a new 16mm film shot especially for the show at Casole d’Elsa. It lasts eight and a half minutes, and is a kind of condensed, poetic portrait of Mario Merz which took shape during the period of preparation for the show.
This is an unusual work by the English artist: fragments of conversation in a garden during the afternoon, changeable weather, a few simple gestures and the hint of the presence of the artist Marisa Merz, also involved in this year’s Arte all’Arte.
Dean’s involvement in Arte all’Arte also includes a series of drawings on alabaster, on show in a small church in Casole d’Elsa.
