            “-a+a”
(Luciano Pistoi) is a tribute to one of the founding
fathers of Arte all’Arte. It was with Pistoi, who for many years
had organized an exhibition event at the Castello di Volpaia, that
the idea of organizing an event that took in some of Tuscany’s
most beautiful art cities and was no longer tied to a single place
began to take shape. This special project has been organized together
with Rosa and Gilberto Sandretto, who were friends of Luciano and
are the owners of the Castello di Linari. Five Italian galleries were
invited to nominate young artists to produce a work on the castle
            premises.
The artists chosen by the respective galleries are: Pennacchio Argentato
and Jordan Wolfson for T293 in Naples; Francesco Arena and Robert
Orchardson for Monitor Video & Contemporary Art in Rome; Emanuele
Becheri and Sara Rossi for NicolaFornello in Prato; Piero Golia and
Jesper Just for Maze in Turin; Christian Frosi and Giovanni Kronenberg
            for Zero in Milan.

Luisa Rabbia, exhibition at San Gimignano, curated
by Achille Bonito Oliva, and presentation of the permanent work “Il
Riposo del Tempo”, realized for Arte all’Arte 9.

There are now 21 permanent installations in the Arte
all’Arte circuit, which make up a contemporary art itinerary
in the province of Siena. The itinerary winds its way around the province
and includes works by internationally celebrated artists; these works
have become an important part of the area’s cultural heritage.

previous years, together with texts by all the curators. The “local
flavours itinerary”, which focuses on the area’s food,
